His unique style draws influence from a variety of genres including pop/rock, folk, jazz, and blues. Think somewhere in between James Taylor and John Mayer, with Paul Simon, Jason Mraz, and Michael Bublé mixed in.

Born to a jazz guitarist and music teacher father and a mother with a classical pedigree, Matt grew up in Shelton, CT engulfed in music. He began violin at the age of 4, guitar at age 8, and first put pen to paper in songwriting at the age of 12.

After studying abroad in Italy, graduating from NYU, he eventually found himself immersed in NYC Greenwich Village’s singer/songwriter community. However, it wasn’t long until he made a move to Nashville in 2013 to dive into Music City’s vibrant scene.

Since then, Matt’s released three full-length studio albums, “A Bigger Picture” (in part executive produced by Ed Cash) in 2014, “Two” (co-produced with Gus Berry) in 2015, and “Luminescence” (co-produced with Neilson Hubbard) in 2017. He has toured the world, playing to audiences in the US, Canada, Europe, and Australia. He opened for legendary British artist Joan Armatrading on multiple engagements and Crystal Bowersox, American Idol Season 9 Runner-Up. In 2015 he was named Artist of the Year by Concerts In Your Home.

Music in the Valley Series

Dating back centuries, the gong has been used to restore balance and harmony to the body, mind and spirit. The healing vibrations of the gong will resonate through your body during this session, and you will relax. For some, the gong cultivates a deep meditative state and it’s possible to experience a journey inward, outward, and a profound expansion of mind state. Lauren Vasquez will play a 30” Paiste Symphonic gong at this session.

Please bring a yoga mat and blanket for warmth.
