T'ai Chi Chih

T'ai Chi Chih is not a martial art, but a tool for self healing. The 19 movements and one pose activate, circulate and balance the vital energy which is inherent in all of us. T'ai Chi Chih is often thought of as a moving meditation because of the calming effect on mind and emotions, and the release of tension throughout the body.

T'ai Chi Chih was originated in 1974 by T'ai Chi Chuan teacher Justin Stone who recognized the need for a simple and easily-learned form of Qigong that would be accessible to many while providing benefits similar to those of traditional forms.

The coupling of movement and stillness has a powerful effect in balancing the yin and yang of the Chi (energy).

Learning T'ai Chi Chih

This profoundly beneficial form can be done either by standing or sitting and is easily learned by people of all ages and various physical conditions. No special clothing or equipment is required and only a few feet of floor space is needed. The full form is usually taught in 8-10 classes of approximately one hour each. While the form can be learned in 10-15 hours of practice, the study can last a lifetime.

Once the outer form is learned, the practice often moves inward promoting a journey of self-discovery and transformation both physically and emotionally.
